June 10 Meeting Notes

We only had 4 of us at tonight’s meeting, but we still had some good things shared…

  1. Holes in the Bike Path – I got called to the Clinton-Fayette Friendship Trail by the Sabina Police today (I’m on the Clinton County Trail Coalition) as the officer was called to check out the bike path where the ground had washed out from under the trail. This spot is about .5 miles from the ball fields towards North Borum Road. This should get corrected soon. Thanks to whoever called it in!
  2. July Meeting – For our July 8, 2025 meeting, we hope to share the new side-by-side for the Sabina Police and meet up in town to introduce the Neighborhood Watch staff and so you can meet your neighborhood Block Captains.
    • We will have more on that soon!
  3. Road Closure – Beginning June 16th, East Elm will be closed for road work, near the Library for 2-3 weeks (no parking on the street).
  4. National Night Out – August 5th will be the National Night Out and we are trying to secure an ice cream truck, checking on food, and the Chief will have a LOT of swag to hand out.
  5. Cut Grass in Roadway – The Police Chief noted what others of us have noted, that there are too many Sabina residents mowing grass onto the roadways.
    • This is not legal in Ohio and is dangerous to motorcyclists. Mow towards your  yard not the road, please.
  6. High Grass Warnings – Some properties have gotten some very high grass and weeds that are not being cut. The Police Chief will be issuing letters to residents not keeping their properties maintained staring this week.
    • Think you might be at risk? Take care of it.
  7. AES Power Poles – Some residents in the Village may have received letters from AES about some large power poles going through town. These will be very tall, 115-195 feet tall! As of tonight the time frame for when this will start was not known.
  8. New Shelter at Sabina Park – Yes, the shelter that was burned down at Sabina Park last year has been rebuilt and you can see images on the Clinton-Fayette Friendship Trail Facebook page here.
    • There is still more work to do, but this is looking good so far!
