Our Town Hall meeting at the COVE on April 8, 2025, included about 25 Watch staff, Village Council, Mayor and residents. Meeting conversations and topics include items below:

  1. Donna helped get the COVE reserved and tables, chairs, water and tablecloths on tables. Chief Joe got cookies for attendees. Thanks!
  2. While discussing Block Captains heading out soon to introduce themselves to residents of their blocks, it was suggested we have badges or cards to identify ourselves. Mayor Abe Arnold said the Village had those we could use. Good idea.
  3. Chief Joe Noland said that 72 notices were issued to residents about blighted properties and asking they be cleaned up and use the trash days.
    • There will also be a tire collection and electronics collection later this year for residents.
  4. April 26th is the date for the local DEA drug collection, tentatively planned to be at the Sabina IGA. Old drugs and medication can always be dropped off at the station in Sabina.
  5. The new Polaris side-by-side should be in soon, to help Police patrol areas that are hard to get to including the Clinton-Fayette Friendship Trail (bike path).
  6. Later this month the shelter that was burned down at the Sabina Park will start being rebuilt, including some of the playground equipment. It will be a steel building.
  7. Lots of improvements at the Sabina Pool this year, hope you can come out! New diving boards, still has wheelchair assistance for handicapped swimmers. Plus, about 4,000 sq ft of concrete expected to be repaired.
  8. The Village is working with the construction crews for gas lines and Altafiber fiber optic cable/data lines. If you have had issues with property, see the Village website for contact info. Otherwise, both crews are doing good.
  9. Three new SPEED LIMIT signs have been acquired for the Village to remind drivers to slow down.
  10. One attendee asked about ordinances for tree/branch pickup. The Village is running behind on that due to the number of trees/branches down, but there is an ordinance on the Village site about how to prep wood for collection.
  11. Residents were reminded of this site to both post concerns but also note great neighbors, great home improvements by landowners (bad to good properties and homes) as well as anything else noteworthy and to post on this site’s home page.
